$5 Saturdays: Emma White

  • Southside Tea Room 639 Wynnum Road Brisbane

$5 Saturdays: $5 entry after 8pm with $5 specials across the board!

Emma White is a Brisbane-based singer-songwriter whose music is an eclectic mix of folk, roots and indie-pop which combines rawness with translucent beauty. Her stirring voice and adventurous acoustic guitar playing create a sound that is by turns meditative, unexpected and confronting. Her lyrics find inspiration in those moment-to-moment experiences which can re-shape your perceptions.

She has performed at various venues over the past ten years, supporting everyone from Deniz Tek to Mia Dyson. Around Brisbane, Emma has played at venues such as Ric’s, The Beetle Bar, Café Checocho and The Hideaway. She has also played at music venues in Melbourne and London. Her most memorable gig was playing at a women’s prison in 2011 as part of a vigil to raise awareness around domestic violence. Emma’s debut EP, Rome, was released in February 2013 and she is currently recording her debut album with Skritch Trembles at Borough Studios.
