Up close, live and personal is Melbourne's writer, performer & comedian...
Justin Heazlewood comes to SSTR this Sunday afternoon hear him sing and talk while we dish out brownies...
About a micro-second ago Justin Heazlewood released his book Funemployed. The culmination of two years work, interviewing 100+ artists, it’s a tell-all memoir meets rogue self-help book.
Coinciding with this is his new EP, released under Justin’s own name, which he'll be playing in between readings from Funemployed, over 2 x 45minute sets ***A N D*** we're gonna be giving away our famous brownies and Southside tarts while they last ~ those tarts of Maddy's are kinda a lot to prepare and they go fast~ THEN/PLUS/AND from 5pm we'll have our incredible Buffalo Wings from $1. Dominique will be Mulled Wine Queen and on tap's Holgate's Temptress *YUM*.
Tix (w/ all $ going to the artist) are only $15... [insert shocked face emoticon] you can pay at the bar
Fun starting from 4:30pm THIS SUNDAY
Justin Haazlewood is The Bedroom Philosopher & vice versa. As the The Bedroom Philosopher he kinda, exactly, like Chris Lilley meets Beck (kinda, EXACTLY like that). He's musical, comedy, literary mashed up man.
As Justin Heazlewood, (his original self?) he's an accomplished penman (senior writer for Frankie for five years + stuff in theThe Big Issue, Mess & Noise & Zoo Weekly) and author. In 2012 he released his first book, The Bedroom Philosopher Diaries, earning praise from Neil Gaiman - “It was what all the great rock and roll touring books would have been like, if the people who wrote them had been honest to the point of embarrassment.”
COME DOWN! IT'LL BE FUN!
